We are living in challenging times, and many of us feel a strong need to protect our democracy. We face an amoral, autocratic president expanding his powers beyond precedent, enabled by a Republican Congress giving him free rein. The stakes couldn’t be higher, but together, we will fight back.

Visit mobilize.us to find protests and events in Sarasota and Manatee Counties. Your presence sends a clear message to Trump and DeSantis: resistance is growing. Stand up when they attack valued institutions like the Ringling Museum’s partnership with Florida State University. We will not sit idly by while they dismantle our community.

Special Elections Matter:

Florida has special elections in two U.S. Congressional Districts on April 1.

Gay Valimont is running in District 1 and 6 Josh Weil in District 6. With the GOP holding a slim House majority, flipping these seats could be game-changing.

These districts lean Republican, but Trump’s failure to address rising living costs, his authoritarian restructuring of government with little regard for institutions or checks and balances, and his alignment with Putin while abandoning our traditional allies gives us an opening.

We must engage voters who feel left behind, reminding them they have a choice and a voice in shaping their future. Every call, protest, and vote will bring us closer to real change. Please support these two candidates by contributing to them and volunteering to help.
